Bobby Sherman Fan Club Convention 2002 (7/25-28/02)

Before the convention started, Chris, her daughter (taking the picture), Debbie A. and I visited Santa Monica Pier and Malibu.
We met up with Debra the next day and had our first Bobby sighting!! ...or "Big Boy", as we like to call him!!  (uh...Chris...what are you doing?)
Next stop was the Ramada Inn and we officially started the convention. hmmm...do you think they knew we were coming?
The convention early birds went to Medieval Times on Wednesday. From left: Chris, Cathy, Me, Kathi, Cora, Kathleen, Dawn, Debbie D., Angie, Niki, Alice, and Becky. Some people claim to have had a Bobby sighting there...wishful thinking maybe?

Kathleen and I won the karaoke contest with our moving rendition of "I'm A Believer".  Oye, what I won't do to win a Bobby keychain!! Chris has threatened to sell the video of this for an EMT Foundation fundraiser...I sure hope she was kidding!!!

I was thrilled to finally meet a couple friends I've been e-mailing with for quite some time...Anne and Karen. And there's Shirley on the right.
Hey, here's Dawn and Debbie D.!! We were disappointed that Dawn's husband, Dick, one of our favorite Bobby Dudes couldn't make it to the convention. I hope you told him how much we missed him, Dawn!!

Oh, here's a better look at Bobby's concert shirt which was up for auction. I heard someone comment that it didn't smell like Polo anymore. Uh...sorry, that was probably my fault. I must have sniffed it all out because I smelled it!! It was such a thrill to see this shirt because Bobby was wearing it the first time I met him and for most of the concerts I went to!!
Besides the raffle, we had a silent auction to benefit the Bobby Sherman Volunteer EMT Foundation. Cindy D. and LindaMay check out the cool stuff!!

Bobby showed up later at the hotel with some blond chick named Barbie in tow.
I think Barbie may have had a little too much to drink because she started to get fresh with Bobby.
Bobby was embarrassed by her behavior, so he made a hasty retreat out of there on his balloon giraffe!! We were laughing so hard, we were surprised security didn't get called!!
After we got the extreme silliness out of our system, we headed to the farewell brunch on Sunday. It was fun, but sad too, because we knew everyone would be leaving soon.

One last group shot and then it was time for the first person to leave to catch a plane. It was sad, but we had so many happy memories of that weekend. And we immediately started looking forward to the next time we can all get together!!
