Barbara and Bobby...

Bobby Sherman and Barbara at the Rialto Car ShowI had 2 full months to plan what I was going to say to Bobby in Rialto. It was perfect - in my head! There is no way to plan for the "first time". And no way to adequately describe it. So here is the condensed version.

My traveling partners were Carol and Teresa. We were asked to drive Fred Miller (yes, THE Fred Miller) to the car show because he was supposed to leave with Bobby. There were some conflicting reports as to what time Bobby would be at the car show. At least now I knew we wouldn't miss him because we had Fred! (What a nice guy he is, too.)

When I first saw Bobby, all I could do was stare with my mouth open. I watched as everyone had their moment with him. He spent time with everyone, not rushing, being very funny and genuine. Did I mention how gorgeous he was? When it was my turn, Chris L. put her arms around my shoulders (because she knew how nervous I was), walked me over to Bobby and introduced me. I looked straight into those beautiful blue eyes and wanted to melt! Yet I can remember every word he said to me. Could it get any better? Oh, yes!

As the crowd was dwindling down, Ginny said she didn't get a picture of Bobby and me on her digital camera, so I'd have to stand next to him again. (What a hardship, right?) He asked me if I was one of the ladies who brought Fred. He knows who I am? Be still my heart! While I'm standing there, with his arm around my shoulder, Carol & Teresa decided we needed a picture of the 3 of us with Bobby. Then, of course, Carol realized she still had her sunglasses on, so a few more pictures needed to be taken without them. So I just stayed right there, wrapped in total bliss - in Bobby's arm. Is this heaven, or what? No, no, not quite...

After Bobby thanked everyone for coming, Carol, Teresa and I headed towards the rest of the Bobby Babes, checking out the antique cars along the way. All of a sudden there stood Bobby and Fred. This time Bobby thanked each of us again for "taking care of Fred", called us each by name, and gave us a hug. Now I'm in heaven!

Meeting all the Bobby Babes was wonderful, too. But some very special ladies made this day even more memorable: Carol, Debra, Ginny, Chris and Teresa. An extra big "thank you" to Fred - we enjoyed taking care of you!

Oh, yeah, and some guy named...umm, what was it...Buddy Herman? Oops, I mean Bobby Sherman!!!
