Bobby - Share His Pillow Talk!

Bobby Sherman - 16 Magazine December 1971Sometimes late at night when you're lying in bed - you really don't feel like sleeping. You're not restless or upset. On the contrary, you just want to rest there, with your head on your pillow, and let all sorts of wonderful, happy thoughts run through your mind. It's like entering a secret dream world and chances are your "special" thoughts are all about that someone who is extra special to you! Well, sometimes your favorite guy in the whole wide world - Bobby Sherman - does the very same thing! And if on some moonlight night - you turned and saw Bobby there, lying with his head on his pillow - awake and thoughtful - this is just what he'd say to you if you could listen in and share Bobby's pillow talk.

Bobby ShermanBOBBY CONFESSES - I think about you much more than you'll ever know, 'cos you're on my mind a great deal of the time. When I record, I always try to choose a song I think you will like, and when I'm on stage performing - I'm up there singing just for you! But you're in my thoughts at other times, too - times you probably never even imagined! After a long and tiring work session - whether I've come home from the Columbia-Screen Gems Ranch where I've spent the day filming my new ABC-TV show Getting Together, or other times when I find myself all alone in a hotel room in some strange city where I've just returned from one of my "in person" concerts - I feel that I have to unwind and relax a bit before I can manage to fall asleep. And that's when I like to read your letters or sit quietly with my head on my pillow and think about you! It's times like these when I can feel your presence right here with me. It's as though I have pushed a little button that brought us together for a nice, long chat. You see, I know more about you than you may think I do - and it's all the things I've learned from our "visits" together late at night that make me love and understand you the way I do!

WHAT YOU'RE REALLY LIKE - I've told you many times how very much you mean to me, and how much I truly care, but I don't think I've ever really gone into detail and explained just why I think you are so extra special - and that's what I want to confide to you right now! One of the things I love about you is the fact that you aren't afraid to be you! For instance, look at all the things you do. No matter what it is - there's always a realness that lets me know so much about what you are really and truly like. When you write me a letter, you confess your innermost feelings, and no matter what is on your mind or in your heart - you "tell it like it is!" You're honest, open, and most important of all - you're true to yourself!

I've also noticed that you are enthusiastic in everything you do. In your letters, or during the times I've been lucky enough to meet and talk with you, you've told me all about certain projects you're involved in at school or in your home town - and what you're doing about them. Other times, you've confided your secret dreams and how you want so much for them to come true. With your faith and determination, you can't lose - and I've been lucky enough to see your enthusiasm in action. For instance, there are so many times when I'm on stage singing and I catch a glimpse of you in the audience. Your smiling, happy face is so full of life and love - and it feels great to see that you aren't afraid to express yourself. You don't hold back your feelings. When you want to scream - you do! And because you let out all of your enthusiasm - you help to turn me on and make my show exciting.

I owe so very much to you. You've stuck by me, believing in all of my dreams and my goals. Your loyalty and faith in me has kept me going. That's why it's important for me to let you know that I believe in you, too. So, whenever you feel depressed and think, "No one understands me!" - please remember that I, Bobby Sherman, do! You've taught me so much about so many things. But most of all, you've shown me the true meaning of the words "friend" and "love" - and you've shown me that they go together, hand-in-hand. I hope with all my heart that you and I will be friends forever. And once again, thank you for just being you!
