The Things I Know About You!

Hi Babe!

Bobby ShermanGreat! - that's the way I feel about writing to you this month. I've been meeting you and talking to you on my tours and I've just spent HOURS shuffling through your letters, and I feel like we really know each other. You know what makes me sad and what makes me happy and you send me wonderful thoughts! I really KNOW I love you!

You probably don't think that I know much about you, though. I have the feeling that you finish the evening dishes and clear your homework out of the way (or put it off, most likely, right?) and you find a ballpoint pen and write "Dear Bobby" and then you freeze up because you don't think that I know what makes you tick.

If I was face-to-face with you right this very minute, you'd be blushing when I said that, wouldn't you? See...I do know about you. I know that sometimes you're very shy, especially around people you like for some reason you don't understand, and that you try not to, but you blush. Then, you get embarrassed and wish you could slide out of the room unnoticed, but of course, you can't. When I talk to you in person, you don't have so much trouble because you think of me as Jeremy and we find a rapport, a really warm feeling between us, don't we?

YOU ARE PRETTY - You can be all sizes of pretty girl...tall, short, in-between...but you rarely think of yourself as pretty except just before bed, when you scrub your face and only one soft light is shining on you, and then you smile into the mirror and think to yourself, "Gee, I really am pretty sometimes!"

Your beauty is natural; you don't go into a heavy make-up bag. You do wear make-up, but not very much and very well applied. You're an honest girl, one that any boy would have to think the world of, if only you can find the right boy, I know I think the world of you!

Though sometimes you're the talk of the party and the clown of the group, you're a quiet type. And you like a quiet person (especially a boy) because you know that other quiet people, like yourself, are inwardly very strong and make up their own minds about things, even if it's contrary to what absolutely everyone else feels.

GO TO PIECES - If you see a picture of me with another girl, you go all to pieces because you feel like I've forgotten you - you get hurt easily, don't you? Someone could be head-over-heels-falling-down-stairs in love with you and they'd have to hire a skywriter to give you the message before you'd believe it.

Your family is pretty close-knit even though you know sometimes they don't understand you and they seem terribly harsh or severe. But, while you're silently calling them names, you're still sure you love them and respect them and would be very unhappy without them.

Clothes are something to make you look nice. You enjoy having a hippie-type purse or bell bottom pants, but you're not a wild looking girl because you don't like not being neat or clean.

WANT PEACE, LOVE - If you're not into the hippie world of clothes, however, you share a common interest (with me too) for peace and love. You think peace is the most precious thing the world could invent, and you wonder what you, single-handedly, can do to help. You get discouraged and even cry sometimes over war and famine and misery...and you try to fight a feeling of helplessness. Maybe you'll join the Peace Corps. You think of it every once in a while. You're a girl who likes soft things, feminine things, teddy bear-type things. Your heart is as fragile as an antique clock and you're afraid someone might break it. I won't babe, because I know you so well...I love you!

Until we're together,
Bobby
