My Christmas Concert Memories!

Hi Babe!

Bobby ShermanI'm still so excited I can't quit talking about it...my tour was a gas! A lot of words like fun, thrill, wonderful, happy...they don't even BEGIN to describe my truly groovy eight-day-trip around the country. Let me tell you about it!

First off, I covered eight cities in eight days, and you know what that means...arrive, unpack, sing, pack, fly away. ALL THAT in one day. But, it didn't bother me a bit (until I got home and collapsed on my couch without even making it to the bed for some sleep).

I dug the busy life - really I did! There's something exhilarating about buzzing around the country, meeting so many outasite people so fast.

30 INCHES OF SNOW - I was really digging everything that happened...until we got to Duluth, Minnesota and nearly froze to death!

Our plane set down in a soft snowfall, and before I could get out two notes of song, we were right in the midst of what seemed like 30 inches of snow. I haven't seen so much snow since I saw that James Bond movie with the ski chase.

Anyway, there I was, Bobby Sherman with a California suntan, and I was shaking with cold. I had on a leather jacket which is a warm leather jacket in California. In fact, at times it gets downright hot. But in Duluth, I might as well have been standing there without anything on at all...I was that cold! I shivered and shook, and about that time the publicity men traveling with me decided to start worrying about me catching a cold - and of course, then I started worrying about catching a cold and there we were, the bunch of us, worrying about catching a cold in Duluth, Minnesota.

Eventually I pulled myself together, wrapped myself up in a blanket and went to the concert hall for rehearsals.

TOO HOT FOR COMFORT - After two songs, I was warmed up inside and out. In fact, I was getting a little too hot for comfort...seems like I'd inspired a kindling of souls something like the Monkees and Beatles found when they played concerts.

I couldn't believe it. Girls and boys were screaming my name and fainting and crawling over each other to touch the stage and zowie! I just didn't believe it.

I didn't believe it so much that I thought this one girl must be in some sort of trouble, and I leaned over the side of the stage to see if I could help her.

MORE SECURITY - Before I knew what was happening, a fan had hold of my arm, I heard a rip at the back of my shirt, and if a security guard hadn't rushed in then, I might well be minus a complete wardrobe!

That's when I began to realize it wasn't my imagination that my songs were going over well...they really were getting to fans. I was delighted, naturally, but the decision became necessary that we increase security protection for me. Sometimes I'm so dense...I never realized I could make so many people happy!

My tour wound up in the South on a Saturday night, and we flew home Sunday morning so I could get a full day of sleep before starting back to work on "Brides." Like I said, I collapsed the minute I walked in my door, and slept until the next morning.

Just in case I missed you on my tour, Babe, here's a kiss...XXX...and a peace sign, too...VVVV.

Love,
Bobby
