Getting Together for Another Fundraiser!

Bobby Sherman - Getting TogetherAs promised, here's the long awaited fundraiser. For those of you not familiar, from time to time I have offered copies of some of Bobby's appearances in my extensive video collection (you've seen samples of the shows I have on Ginny's TV and Movies page) in return for donations. The past fundraisers have been for Bobby's EMT Foundation (in which $7,595.00 has been collected overall), but this time it's for another very special Foundation -- the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation. Bobby has shown his support for many years by making appearances at the annual golf tournament that helps the foundation raise funds. Since he has been unable to attend the last few years, I thought it would be a great idea to collect donations and donate them in Honor of Bobby to show that his fans still support his causes. This foundation helps the widows and orphans of officers killed in the line of duty. Just this February the LAPD lost its first SWAT Officer and many officers had their "End of Watch" before him. It's a cause near and dear to my heart as my own Daddy was a Reserve Officer killed in the line of duty when I was only 9. Back then they didn't have organizations such as the LAPMF, so I know how much these families can use and appreciate the help. You can read about the Foundation and it's great work for yourself by going to www.lapmf.org.

The new offering this time is for a copy of Bobby's TV special from 1971. The donation amount for this is $30.00. In addition, I am offering my past offerings of the "Getting Together" episodes that I have since it seems some of the newer posters to the board may have missed them. I was fortunate to obtain 4 of the shows on 16 mm and have a couple other episodes I also obtained that are not quite the quality of the original 4, but very watchable and enjoyable. Due to the rarity and quality of the first 4, they are priced a little higher. The available episodes are:

"Where Are You Little Star?" (Episode #4, October 9, 1971) - $50.00 (This episode is when Lionel talks Bobby into accompanying him to his high school reunion. Everyone has to drool over the site of a topless Bobby in bed!)

"Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" (Episode #6, October 23, 1971) - $50.00 (This episode is when Rudy stands Rita up for a date to the Hairdresser's Ball and the guys try to find her a date.)

"All Shook Up" (Episode #3, October 2, 1971) - $50.00 (Jenny's first date -- and how "shook up" Bobby gets. This one is where you see Bobby as the Cowboy in white that comes riding in on the white horse to save his baby sister.)

"Singing the Blues" (Episode #5, October 16, 1971) - $50.00 (The guys discover a young new talent -- only problem is they get opposition from the talent's mother cause all she wants is for him to finish elementary school!)

"Blue Christmas" (Episode #11, December 18, 1971) - $25.00 (This is the classic Christmas episode where Bobby wants to give Jenny a white Christmas and they end up renting a cabin in the woods. This is a copy of a copy and some distortion in spots, but still very watchable.)

"Memories Are Made of This" (Episode #9, December 4, 1971) - $25.00 (The guys need to earn enough money to rent tuxedos to attend a very special awards ceremony for Rudy, so see what lengths they go to for them to do it. This episode is very watchable, but in black and white for some reason.)

All the offerings will be recorded on a DVD-R format. Please be sure that your DVD player will play that format before ordering as obviously I will not be able to offer any refunds. Most of the newer DVD players will play all formats, but some of the older ones would play only DVD-R or only DVD+R.

The donations will be made payable by you directly to the Foundation so you can be assured that it is where your money is going. There is a nominal fee that I have to charge for the raw materials to cover the cost of the blank DVD, mailing envelope and labeling as well as postage. That is $5.00 for the first DVD and $3.00 for each additional DVD sent to the same address. Any 3 of the offerings will fit on one DVD (at the speed that maintains the highest quality which is the only one I do).

Deadline to order is Friday, May 2, 2008. Your donations have to be received by Friday, May 9, 2008, for the DVD to be mailed to you on Saturday, May 10, 2008. I always mail all DVD's at the same time so that everyone receives them around the same time.

If you have any questions or want to place an order, please e-mail me at bobbysgirl@earthlink.net. Once I know what shows you would like to order I can give you the total amount for the checks and instructions on how to send them to me. Thank you in advance for your interest and your donations! Together we can all help a wonderful foundation!
