Bobby Fest 2002

Since we can't seem to get Bobby to cooperate with more concerts, we had to find a way for us fans to get together.  LindaMay had come up with the wonderful idea of a Bobby Fest!!  So, there were three Bobby Fests in February; two on the east coast (LindaMay's and Mindy's) and ours in Chicago.  I don't know what happened to all those west coast Babes!!  LOL!!

Chris arranged a terrific evening at Dick Clark's American Bandstand Cafe.  In attendance were Chris (of course), myself, Cindy H., Debbie, Linda, Cindy R. and camera shy Marlene who took all the pictures.  Thank you, Marlene!!  As we sat down at our table, we were surprised to hear that our adorable waiter was named Bobby!!   Hmmm...I wonder if we had been David Cassidy fans if his name would have been David?   The American Bandstand Cafe plays 50's and 60's music, but I didn't want to take any chances and brought a Bobby CD just in case whoever programmed the music didn't have any taste.  But apparently we weren't the first ones to ask because a few minutes after we requested a Bobby song, on came Julie!!!  We had been talking, laughing and just having a wonderful time, but when that song came on, we all stopped dead in our tracks and screamed!!!  Good thing it's a noisy restaurant or we probably would have been thrown out.  Chris noticed that there was two girls in their teens at another table singing and dancing to the music!!!  Apparently it's not just us 40 something broads who have good taste in music!!!

Later on we all decided to pose "with Bobby".  Yeah, I KNOW those pictures were VERY convincing, but Bobby really wasn't there.  Well, he was definitely there in spirit and our hearts, but physically?...the best we could do was our 18 year old waiter named Bobby!!  We were all laughing hysterically as we stood up one by one and posed with our arm around the imaginary Bobby.  Do you think everyone in the restaurant thought we were crazy?  Probably...TOUGH!!  Our waiter did at one point ask what we were doing.  We said, "can't you see him?  We're having our pictures taken with Bobby Sherman"!!

We spent over three hours talking about Bobby, reminiscing about concerts, lusting over photos and magazines and just had a FANTASTIC time.  Thank you, Chris, for getting this together.  It was great seeing everyone again!!!  And I hope the next time we all get together that Bobby REALLY is there!!!
